21. Dezember 2013Im Londoner Apollo Theatre in der Shaftesbury Avenue ist am Abend des 19.12. während einer Vorstellung im vollbesetzten Haus die Decke des Zuschauerraums eingestürzt.
Scotland Yard rechnet mit mehreren Opfern und Verletzten gerechnet.
Über die Ursache und das volle Ausmaaß der Katastrophe herrscht noch Unklarheit. Das Theater hat über 700 Plätze.
Kingsland Station Manager Nick Harding is at the scene of the theatre incident. He said:
“We believe around 720 people were in the theatre at the time. A section of the theatre’s ceiling collapsed onto the audience who were watching the show. The ceiling took parts of the balconies down with it.
